Antique Islamic Syrian Moorish Arabic Caligraphy Inlaid Chair Levantine 1890 Sculpture Born in Antwerp in 1600A good antique Syrian Moorish inlaid chair with mashrabiya and Arabic calligraphy decoration, circa 1890. This very attractive antique Levantine chair has a curved back with a pair of turned ball finials and a central crest inlaid with bone, the back is elaboratley decorated with mashrabiya stick & ball cross carvings, and the central panel is inliad with Mother of Pearl. The seat has the original embroidered fabric with a central Arabesque cartouche.
